to be honest i think a lot of why shonen is pretty boring (at least to me) is because of how formulaic and repetitive most of the genre is. theres only so much you can do within the "good guy beats up bad guy, powers up, moves onto next bad guy" blueprint without being derivative slop. i really enjoy bleach and jjba though, i was absolutely obsessed with the latter from 2019-21. i think the main difference with jojo from most other shonen anime is the diversity of characters and their appearrances, abilities and personalities. i think the best example of this is ringo roadagain from SBR, he was such a well written character for whats essentially just a fodder enemy to be defeated within a few chapters.

yeah i get what you mean . i dont think many of the azumangas would fare too well in this world

i watched it in 2018 or 2019 and i enjoyed it then but i cant remember most of it now so i might give it a rewatch. i think ill watch either monster or legend of the galactic heroes first though, ive heard both are good.
