Nier's 5* follows the other evoker arcs of confrontation with the world in the uncap and the skill unlock being their personal story. in the uncap World trash talks Nier and Death as societal rejects who's love is conditional and not "real" in the sense that they actually love someone moreso than they're terminally afraid of rejection to the point of being able to love anything that doesn't inherently rejects them, until it gets disproven, at which point they justify their slaughter under the idea that they rejected their love.
