The resets are fine, it’s just the game really needs more “get off me” mechanics that aren’t just feverishly mashing lights and supers. Like the game has an experimental beta mode that they’ve used to test out balance/mechanical changes. Just experiment with a more traditional burst or even implement Under Night’s Guard Thrust as a more consistent yet costly alternate to push block special cancel. Tweak and change shit to see whether they would fit with the game or not.

It doesn’t matter how many times you censor Filia or have the characters go on screen and yell “LOLICON IS PEDOPHILIA”, the core gameplay (six button ratio based 3v3 tag fighter based around resets) was always going to alienate people who got into fighting games recently via Strive and SF6. Especially doesn’t help that this games, once again lacks ranked matches, replay theater for all consoles/an actual UI for said replay theater, and shit even something like Arcana Heart 3 Extend. And that game is still stuck in delay based hell
