Yeah if you ignore the standard of living, prosperity, or attitude towards the average citizen. It's so ironic how americucks - never having lived under soviet rule - claim that it's a bastion of hope etc. In reality people were just tired of being peasants for 200 years and something had to give. If the Russian revolution resulted in a rational, capitalist state I'm willing to bet things would look a lot more different today - where market power combined with oil reserves drive prosperity.
It didn't have to be like this, and while the average Russian nowadays think that they're better than America and could beat them in a war, we tend to forget that with the right decisions and mentality, exactly that would've happened.
