He's clearly in a relationship with Unity and the only reason they're not more open about it is because they erased their memories for some stupid reason. Meanwhile Murky is arguing with Protege all the way until the end of the fic, and is the last to be added to his sketchbook.
Protege may be gay, but he's getting NOTHING from Murky except a belated friendship. And that's why he's so tragic, and the best character in MN7.
