There's an interesting question.
She could absolutely cosplay as Aeryn Sun from the sci-fi series Farscape, and I think she'd like that character. Also as Reiko Terayama from Golden Boy when she's in her motorcycle suit. Everything else I like to imagine cosplaying is very yamato nadeshiko.
Well, she could also cosplay as Kanuka from Patlabor.
Of course both Reiko and Kanuka are very Japanese when not in racing suit/uniform, so I'm stretching it a bit.
