Why do Germans keep memeing about DB when other state railways are much bigger memes, such as PKP?

DB will keep century-old semaphores and repair and upgrade the track infrastructure, PKP will modernize the semaphores and other signaling infrastructure and not touch the tracks at all, leaving them to continue rotting.

It drives me insane infinitely more than the amount of time I waited for the crowded near-midnight train out of Freiburg on an empty station back to Karlsruhe on my way back from Strasbourg (at least I had 5 friends to explore the area with in the time so we were not bored).
