That's an aspect of the "competency crisis" as it's known.

There's also "The Limits to Growth" report/simulation from 1972, and that's always predicted that society will peak now/soon. And every time the model gets updated with new data/math/etc, the results are basically the same. On that point, I thought I read about an "AI" update of it the other day, but I can't find that article/whatever at the moment.
