the point being that as a child, I used abstract thinking to figure out a creative solution. wether it is correct or not shouldn't matter, that's what class is for, an actual teacher would see the effort, figure out where you stand from it and steer you in the right direction so you can learn to use your mind to develop solutions in a variety of situations. Filtering children into categories from best to worst based on how little they question a "correct" answer when presented with it by a figure of authority isn't teaching, it's conditioning.
