Due to the way womens' sexual selection works, everything is a competition because women choose men based on their standing relative to other men. When a better looking healthier guy shows up, mother nature is saying that he should breed instead of the worse looking guy. Same thing with a high status vs low status man, high earning guy vs low earning guy, and so on. In "civilized" society, the violence is implied; you compare one another and say one guy is healthier, more accomplished, and more intelligent. The lesser guy concedes to him because in a theoretical conflict the upper guy would likely win. Blacks just cut to the chase and physically duke it out to prove who is top dog. In a civilized society we do all this mumbo jumbo posturing and comparing stats with everybody, but in the end it's all the same: a brutal selection process with winners who take all and losers who win nothing
