if you're a fan of metal, a bit of neoclassical. two of the goofiest looking dudes in the game, keith merrow and jeff loomis. they only made one album together but it's a great collection of melodic shredding. merrow has great rhythm chops and loomis is an excellent all round lead player. there's a bit of yngwie, friedman, and others in the style, laid over the top of more modern, metal and the production is great. there's a couple of acoustic tracks to break things up but for the most part, its just heavy guitars and soaring solos
