My greatest disappointment with the newer Mihoyo games is the protagonists being self inserts. GGZ and HI3 Kiana both had huge character development and even the current Dreamseeker of Part 2 is becoming more of her own character as time goes on. There are gachas with faceless or unvoiced self insert MCs and yet they get more character development that bounces off other characters getting character development than Traveler or Trailblazer.
