>Because that type of archetype isn’t really a thing in Western media.
which type? "woman with animal ears and tail?" anon, you just posted several examples, and repeated them in this very post. though i would disagree about Catra and Cheetara. original Catra had no animal features. original Cheetara was drawn with smooth skin. new Cheetara has a few spots, but that's still absolutely a human face. both characters' animal features are so minor, i'm not sure how they wouldn't be classified as mimi.
>are greatly overshadowed in most other media
if we're comparing them to, say, toons, sure. there are probably more Buster Bunnys than Kittys (Monkeybone). but there are also probably more Bustery Bunnys than M'Resses.
> Japanese video games have a healthy mix of the two
what is the kemomimi character in Shining Force? you're not calling centaurs kemomimi, are you?
>official figure clearly shows she has a snout.
that is a human face with human bone structure and features. looks like they didn't even give her the cat nose.
>Pulchra
i was actually thinking about mentioning her last post. she also does not have a muzzle. the nose and fur are the only things keeping her from being mimi.
is there even any official art of Ochette from a side view?
