2-600,000 dead whites during the civil war to pay for the 300K or so blacks shipped over from Africa, many of whom went to South America
3-The purchasing and creation of the country of Liberia, plus a boat ticket purchased for every free black to go to this new country where they could claim land and their homesteading starter kit (40 acres and a mule in their homeland)
