Anon, maybe, but the earth's rotation is faster than the jet stream.

It seems logical that the flight from East to West uses the jet stream, while the flight from west>East goes against the jet stream and is slower. But there are too many details to hash that out like flying under or around the jet stream and meeting the earth's rotation could effectively change that calculation.

You guys have some good answers, but not conclusive. More research is needed.
