Vtubers aren't the exclusive property of their fans. Never have been, in fact. Even the most GFE of them (maybe Michael Kitty) has attachments to the outside world.
Anyone that was heartbroken about Nimi's announcement really ought to just go outside, touch grass, take a long hike, collect shells at the beach, etc. Those people might have been watching the streams for the wrong reasons.
