Even wealthy people want to spend some time in a city or just go shopping in malls without fearing for their lives. If nothing else just to waste time. Can't do that in places like Berlin or some places like San Francisco. You look a little wealthier or drive a nicer car, you will get robbed. Which probably will only increase as people get more desperate.
Its enough that you're a doctor or something or a professor in a university. You know not "rich" but wealthy. If enough wealthy people are affected, people will demand that resources will be spent locally rather than in some wars that shouldn't interest us.
