>apparently TS medic had an extra arc I didn't read for after the epilogue concluded
Damn that's nice but I was really disappointed that it was a dull battle arc...
Introducing new characters and having to read about Touri killing again feels so tired, not to mention the fact that the "tank ace" fight is just a lame rehash of the bell battle with Arunoma's best friend.
I think that the author should have kept the tone of the two epilogues about Nauman and Gavel given they were leagues more interesting as actual sendoffs to the established cast. I'm surprised they didn't really expand on Touri becoming a famous diplomat either—I would have really loved some inner monologue heavy chapters about her going on tour to the trenches or just going around Sabbath/Austin talking about the post-war reconstruction.
I also felt that it was a shame that Sylph and Bern didn't get dedicated chapters given how hard they carried the latter parts of the series for me. Sylph especially I felt didn't get any justice given how dominant her role was throughout most of the arcs up until the finale. I was really expecting the diary callback to be Touri's post mortem attempt at repairing her friend's image, but in the end after her suicide she doesn't get mentioned again at all which was a real disappointment.
