Really? What gave it away? The directive given to the Wehrmacht prior to Barbarossa to allow the SS to round up persons of interests/jews behind enemy lines? The jurisdiction order that took away legal protection from Russian civilians? Or Manstein literally calling the war in the east a war against jewish Bolsheviks? Or the Germans referring to the war as Rassenkampf? God I hate these modern "intellectuals". It was pretty clear the Germans considered the war a race war. There is no "I think".
