It's just the fate of being a gacha. There's a constant pressure to pump out character after character with rarely any time left to dwell on old ones. Since they're all expected to make a consistent profit the devs have to play it safe by sticking to what they know works. Like (you) pandering or putting a girl in the robot since Firefly was successful. We'll be lucky if the robot girl spends even half of her screentime not looking like a human.
