Look outside was pretty fun. A good mix of horror and silly. The vast majority of enemy encounters are completely unique, and each sprite is better than the last.

It's on the shorter side of a turn based RPG which is a good thing if you ask me because 10-15 hours of fun is better than doing the same stuff over and over again for 60 hours.
The game kinda positions itself as something you should replay once or twice as getting perfect ending is just cryptic enough that you might not get it on your first time. However, I don't think there's quite enough randomization to make a second play-through interesting.

Game's also way too easy. Even on the highest difficulty (normal) and doing the optional difficulty challenge relating to a hole in the wall I could still blast through the game. I guess this has to do with the fact that I used 4 party members (Sam + 3) in both play through and combat doesn't really adjust to that. I can image doing a solo playthrough is cock and ball torture, but that's not really something the game seems to encourage. The many difficulty from the regular game comes from being set back a lot if you die, but that's about it.

The apartment and personal management side of the game is also weak. I never ran out of food or hygiene items once. And having half a dozen people at your apartment doesn't lead to much. They don't consume more food, and as far as I know there aren't any events where they get in a fight or do anything that would actually make you want to kick them out. There are no meaningful downsides to having companions in your apartment, and I never once interacted with the needs system (because it's way too easy to stay clean, fed, happy, and rested).

The story is alright. It's not plot heavy, but the theming is strong and writing is strong.
