Basically what the other anon said but it can be simplified to "background character looking characters" but the lack of distinctive facial features kinda makes them stand out when pointed at nowadays since everyone wants to stand out and thus try to make themselves quirky. A simple no frills plain girl design goes a long way and is extremely cute. Even though the last two things posted had glasses looking girls that isn't the only way to express mob style, it can also be through style. Like mentioned before it does include less detain on the face, but chibi characters lend them selves to being mobugao by the nature of them being less detailed versions (and often times superior) versions of existing things. god DAMN I love mobs
