Your "chudville" (wtf) gym is just as homo as any Hollyweird gym in California. That is what gyms are and always were. You probably think they were invented in ancient Greece, but those gymnasions looked like track and field arenas combined with judo dojos. The guy who invented what we recognioze as gyms was a French communist named Hippolyte Triat. That was in the 1850s. So gyms aren't enarly as old and trad as you think. And this triat guy has a fucking weird story, born in paris, got kidnapped by vagabonds, sold to a Circus in which he had to do acrobatics in girls' clothes. It only gets weirder from there.

So, yeah, the homo vibe has always been there in modenr gyms.
