Supermarket petrol is lower grade. I had a Skoda that would throw an engine light regularly until upon suggestion stopped using supermarket petrol. Stopped throwing the light until I went back to supermarket petrol and was again solved by not using supermarket petrol.
Also you have E10 now which is actually damaging to some older cars so you need to use lowe ethanol like E5 which is what v power is.
