Just his first 3 books. Junky, Queer, Naked Lunch. It’s weird that Cronenberg adapted one of his schizo books because his ascetic filming style is much more suited to the blunt, matter-of-fact prose of Junky. Howard Shore + Ornette Coleman’s score was one of the things that led me to become a jazzfag funnily enough.

I was just thinking this morning about how the end credit songs are sort of misplaced. “Overdose Delusion” plays for the Leave ending when it seems more suited for the darker Maria ending. “Promise” seems fit for the hopeful Leave ending. Hm!
