The moment Gen-X started being in charge things went to fucking shit. They were the first generation entirely raised by the television and the ideology of boomers, who as reactionaries seeded a world of hands-off parenting, drug use, and casual culture. Gen-X was the first generation for which mass automation began to seriously displace the workforce. It was also the first truly global generation, able to travel the entire world in relative safety. They had good wages, good unions, plenty of time off, and all the opportunity in the world.

They had the greatest of all possible worlds and completely trashed it.

In the 1970s and 80s, U.S. children watched 4+ hours/day of television on average.

By contrast, Baby Boomers had far less access to content in their youth, and Millennials were already being transitioned toward interactive/digital forms.

Born after Vietnam, and before 9/11, Gen X avoided direct military drafts or generational wars.
They came of age during the long tail of the post-WWII economic boom and the 1980s consumer surge. For middle-class Americans, this meant home ownership, suburbs, and cheap commodities , no Great Depression trauma like their grandparents, and no 2008 crash like Millennials.

They were and are the laziest, most entitled, egotistical, selfish generation and if the world comes to a shitting halt it will be because of them and the sins they have begot
