How didn't you? It's been a thing for a decade with majority of games having, or being forced to, add an arachnophobia mode.

Dragon Age Veilguard outirght fully removed spiders during development to "not trigger people".
Lethal Company, Grounded, Hogwarts Legacy, etc. all added Arachnophobia Mode to replace spiders with orbs or boxes.
