Look at it from the japanese perspective. They have an advanced society with very high trust and low crime. Now some Christians come and tell you you are morally lost and are subject to your lusts and desires which will destroy you and your society, unless you covnert. But their society is proof that is bullshit so of course the Japanese think your are silly and naive. Look around the world and notice many christian countries are backwards shitholes full of crime. Then the other reason is, they don't want another religion to come in and disturb their peace they already have. Overall they just think Christianity is some backwards religion from strange parts of the world they can do without. And so far they have been right.
