Here the pasta
The left's record on immigration is much better.
From 2009-2011 Obama was president with a democrat near-supermajority in the congress.
From 2017-2019 Trump was president with a republican majority in the congress.
Let's compare the 2 records on interior removals (aka deportations).
>ICE 2018 report on Trump administration:
>ICE 2015 report on Obama administration:
The Trump administration removed 95K illegals from the country on it's best year.
The Obama administration removed over 220K both years.
Pic related shows that border encounters under the Trump administration, in 2019, were the highest that they had ever been up until that point. If you look further back there is no point in recorded history where the flow of migrants coming across out border was worse prior to that point.
Pic related also shows The Trump admin also took in more legal immigrants than any administration prior. This is important because legal immigration, more than 3/4th of our total immigration, is the sole discretion of the executive. This means Trump needed no approval from congress to stop this and has no scapegoat to blame other than himself.
The republican party convinces the public that they will be strong on the border by saying mean things in speeches and then having the media, which they own including CNN and MSNBC and the rest, support their narrative.
We have immigrants in America due to capitalism and the republican party's rightwing economic policies, which they vote against changing every year in congress. Because they will note vote for new economic policies our country has been forced to rely ever-increasingly on openborders in order to keep our economy growing and afloat. You won't solve this problem until you elect progressive democrats both to the presidency and to congress.
