Spamton literally wanted to kill Tenna and was anticipating his death up right up to the moment the Knight dis-armed that TV.
There's plenty of evidence that they were both manipulating eachother when they were business partners, but unironically got attached to each other, and both ended up feeling betrayed.
Besides that, the current Spamton in our pocket is still a morally compromised creature that doesn't feel remorse for his past actions. Tenna kept his employees trapped in unfair working conditions with his contracts, though he seems to have changed for the better.
