Belgian FM Maxime Prévot reiterated that confiscating frozen Russian sovereign assets to aid Ukraine “is not an option for Belgium.” He warned it would undermine trust in the euro and damage the credibility of European financial services. Most of the €200B in frozen Russian funds are held in Belgium’s Euroclear.
