Honest question: what was the last time some of you read the Muzan fight? 2019? 2020?
It's easily the most misremembered fight in the whole series, and I swear I will see people in these threads, in 2029, when the movie comes out and the fight looks incredible, saying that Ufotable "fixed" the fight, when they will most likely just follow all the emotional beats that were already in the manga.
It's desperate, tense, cathartic, full of payoffs.
Its only weakness is ironically the same "weakness" as the Infinity Fortress itself: Gotouge trying to execute an idea that was far beyond her artistic skills.
Just like the Infinity Fortress is something that could only reach its full visual impact if it were drawn by some madman like Horikoshi or Murata, Muzan's attacks are supposed to feel like an endless meatgrinder that completely surpasses the level of speed the heroes had faced up to that poin. Even Gyomei could not counterattack when he had *only* 4 other Pillars covering for him, and had to wait for Inosuke, Kanao and Zenitsu to join the fight in order to find an opening.
This sounds awesome on paper (just like the Infinity Fortress always sounded awesome as a concept), only Gotouge did not have the skill to properly convey such a level of speed. When it looks amazing in the movie version, people will act like Ufotable "improved" the fight, and I do hope they give us new ambitious sequences like they did in the Akaza fight.... but at its core, when people compare it to the original material, all the important scenes will remain the same.
