Because what everyone feared from attacking Iran was Russia and China coming to their defense and real potential of WW3, however surprisingly either came to Iran’s help. People were worried about Iran doing something stupid in response which would cause another response from the US and escalations… Seems like they ayatollah and mullahs are now in self preservation mode and want to cling to power more than doing what they know would be foolish attacks which would lead to the US leveling entire cities in Iran.
