Christianity spread all over the Roman Empire because most "Romans" (yes even Italians) were deracinated Euromutts who didn't really feel any connection to Romanity or their pre-Roman ancestors who got conquered. This set the foundation for the development of future European nationalities and the "barbarian" regions of Europe were modeled after this in Germany, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, etc. Okay cool. So why do RWers who think that anything foreign and anything cosmopolitan is evil worship the Roman Empire? Even the Roman Republic was like this, although yes, there was more of an oppressive divide between Roman and non-Roman.
