The physical feeling itself isn't anything special, the scalp is kinda hard though sometimes their hair is soft which is nice. Mentally it's similar to petting a cat with results varying based on personality, some of them enjoy it as a reward while others get annoyed but still let it happen. Triggers protective instincts pretty strongly >t. had to babysit the kids of friends/family for much of my lifespan
