I am a chud so I'm inherently against Korrasami, however, tumblrinas that inherently pushed for Korrasami pushed for a very poorly written romance regardless of Nickolodeon's interference. Season 1 and 2 happened the way they did and if in a perfect world they were rewritten to account for Korrasami endgame it would be shittier. It's at least interesting on an ego driven level how angsty and dramatic the hetero lovesquare is between all four of them. Korra and Asami's characters just make more sense and are more fun (this goes for most real women too), when they're just regular straight girls.

I may be a chud but people who are obsessed with being gay are objectively wrong that Korrasami is anything good for the characters. It would have even been better if they introduced a Edward/Jacob storyline where all the drama makes Korra breakup with Mako and because she's still just a sheltered thrust into the bigcity she runs into flings until realizing at the end of the show that Mako really was the one she wanted. Maybe reduce the 3rd wave feminism flavor of women not being punished for having a hoe phase, maybe write it so Mako keeps her on a tight leash and she understands that's how she should have been the whole time. Either way, even that flavor of overarching story drama would have been better than the shitpile that is Korrasami.
