Part of the problem is that most Japanese gacha games don't even bother trying to reach out to international markets. Say what you will about Chinese gacha games, but they take non-Chinese players seriously. So even if you don't play Chinese gacha games like Genshin or Azur Lane or whatever, you still at least know they exist.
Aside from F/GO and Uma Musume, what other big Japanese gacha games are there? I can't even name them. I'm pretty sure there's a Dragon Ball gacha game, but I don't even know if it's even available in the west. And again, that goes back to my original point about Japanese gacha games not even trying to reach out to the west.
