If they really are a tranny, I'm not surprised any of that is happening. Look up "v-coding". Prisoners already get abused half the time, and trannies get it like 10 times worse. Surprised they've not been raped or molested or anything.
Anyway, Ghost in the Shell. I tried reading the manga a while back, but honestly, I didn't really gel with it very well. It seemed like the storytelling just wasn't very good. The characters had pretty bland personalities and the plots seemed to just happen and then resolve without much in the way of development. I found Shiro's annotations to be more entertaining to read than the actual manga. The main saving grace for that was the art. Am I retarded and just not getting it, or is GitS known to not be a masterpiece? People talk it up so much, I thought I was going in for one of the best cyberpunk stories I'll ever read. Blade Runner, Deus Ex, and even the movie all mog this manga.
