The reason AEWtists are so mindbroken over Mariah leaving compared to any of the many other wrestlers who went from AEW to WWE is that Mariah was a genuine homegrown star who they absolutely loved. It's one thing if a former WWE talent goes back to WWE. It's one thing if it's Ethan Page or Brian Pillman Jr, but Mariah was absolutely huge in AEW. They were saying that her story with Toni was the best story in all of wrestling. She was the champion of the company. Tony gave her everything she could've wanted, and she still said "Thanks but no thanks" and went to the big leagues the first chance she got. AEWtists were legit shook. If Mariah May of all people is that eager to leave, then none of their favorites are safe.
