I liked Warrior Within's shenanigans and paradox bullshit even if barely any of it made sense because the idea of the enemy who randomly tossed a dagger at you being you from the near future actually protecting yourself from a sneaking enemy is kino, among other ideas they had
Also the playing area going from pretty and new (when in the far, far past) and to destroyed and fucked up (current in-game 'lore' time) was a really neat effect. The game halted your progression in the 'current' world because the way forward is destroyed - so you go into a sand time portal that sends you back in time so far the place is now pristine and unfucked, letting you through.
