There is objectively more theology, more history, more language, more religion, more architecture, more of everything with Eastern Mediterranean 'pagan' religion.
Maybe everyone with a Mediterranean background is satisfied with Christianity, while Nordic/Germanic people are mostly ex-atheists or random Protestants, so they like the outlet of Nordic religion. Also, maybe the relatively tiny sample size of Nordic writings means there’s more room to interpret as they wish, without bumping elbows with classicists, archaeologists, linguists, historians, theologians, etc., like you would with the extremely vast body of Mediterranean religion and culture studies.
