You might not be old enough to know that DoD has probably a dozen different intel sources on casualties all varying wildly from one-another.

At this point we don't even know which intel chain the figures came from.
Given how insane the numbers are it's most likely UAF DESU.

We don't actually know whether the figure came from US intel or if it was copy-pasted from UAF.

Remember the NATO leak from a couple years ago inferred the data within the leak had some from UAF figures
(which were 1/3rd of what was being published publicly at the time)
