I believe Lukashenko and Trump when they said he genuinely wants to end the war. If he leaves Ukraine within the West's sphere of influence, with Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkov, and the other historically-Russian lands, it would be a massive mistake and only invite massive trouble for Russia down the line. Essentially, kicking the can down the road once again.
