EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS AT LEAST ONCE

Phenomena are
preceded by the mind,
ruled by the mind,
made of the mind.
If you speak or act
with a corrupted mind,
then suffering follows you –
as the wheel of the cart,
the track of the ox
that pulls it.

Phenomena are
preceded by the mind,
ruled by the mind,
made of the mind.
If you speak or act
with a calm, bright mind,
then happiness follows you,
like a shadow
that never leaves.

‘He insulted me,
hit me,
beat me,
robbed me’
–for those who brood on this,
hostility isn’t stilled.

‘He insulted me,
hit me,
beat me,
robbed me’–
for those who don’t brood on this,
hostility is stilled.

Hostilities aren’t stilled
through hostility,
regardless.
Hostilities are stilled
through non-hostility:
this, an unending truth.

May Emiru be well, happy, and peaceful.
May no harm come to her.
May no difficulties come to her.
May no problems come to her.
May she always meet with success.

May Emiru also have
patience,
courage,
understanding,
and determination
to meet and overcome inevitable difficulties, problems, and failures in life.

May Emiru's mind be filled with the thought of
loving-friendliness,
compassion,
appreciative joy,
and equanimity.
May she be generous.
May she be gentle.
May she be grateful.
May she be relaxed.
May she be happy and peaceful.
May she be healthy.
May her heart become soft.
May her words be pleasing to others.

May all that Emiru
see,
hear,
smell,
taste,
touch,
and think
help her to cultivate loving-friendliness, compassion, appreciative joy, equanimity, generosity, and gentleness.

May Emiru's behavior be friendly and her loving-friendliness be a source of peace and happiness.
May this behavior help her personality.
May she be free from fear, tension, anxiety, worry, and restlessness.

Wherever Emiru goes in the world, may she meet people with happiness, peace, and friendliness.

May Emiru be protected in all directions from greed, anger, aversion, hatred, jealousy, and fear.
