Yeah, Bloodtinge/Skill is my favorite as well. Found myself falling in love with the Reiterpalasch, until I got an even spread of those stats to focus on the Chikage.
Even started to like the Riflespear, somewhat. Bowblade is also really strong.
Currently, have a Skill/Arcane character going. People have been criticizing this game for the lack of build-variety and they are kinda right. I would dread starting another character that focuses on Skill in some capacity (and let's be real, focusing on Arcane or Bloodtinge early is gimmicky as fuck, you will either go for Skill or Strength). That would mean using the Threaded Cane and Saw Spear again for a good chunk of the game. What else do you get early? Riflespear is still not a great weapon, especially if you don't want to use the gun part much. Reiterpalasch falls into the same trap (regardless of how much I love it). You need a dedicated Bloodtinge-build to make effective use of the Chikage. BoM? Yeah, fun, but if you aren't doing Skill/Arcane, another waste. LHB? Awesome weapon, requires some strength investment and you can use it in almost every other build as well.
I'm 100% sure the Rakuyo was designed to make up for barely any "pure" Skill weapon in the base game, aside from the two already mentioned, and then it's hidden in the most hellish place of the DLC.
And typing all this just exemplifies how much Bloodborne's builds are just "weapon". Even more so compared to other Souls games.
