They don't resell a $50 card for $50 they sell them for $35 or some other amount less than the face value of the card. The scammers get the card for free so anything they sell it for is profitable, and the end buyer gets it for less than market rate (and are unlikely to ask questions or care that it's stolen because the deal is so good).
