You know I think I figured out why Washington state is such a good state: you see George Washington everywhere. He's on your driver license and hung on the wall in the DoL, you see him in school, in courts, on fines, the first General and President of the USA is just plastered everywhere official. Even when the seal isn't there, the state being named Washington means you'll definitely hear his name all the time. Washington state ferries, Washington state university, and so on. Even the interstate routes have a silhouette of him. I now believe George's composed yet ever so slightly disdainful look on the seal imposes better behavior upon the populace. He's like Big Brother, if Big Brother was a relatively good fella 250 years ago
