Yeah I mean the only fretless guitar player in metal I even know of is Vindsval, the rest are all bass players for tech death. Fretless guitars are bretty darn rare in general, not sure why.

I would really like to get someone such as T.T. to use his weirdo tone and stick him on a fretless if he could learn the intonation. That would probably be my holy grail lead guitarist. Give me a set of rules like no tremolo picking and each voice can only be melodic instead oc chordal, I bet it would be absolutely terrific.

Although honestly Vindsval's own job on MoRT is so good as well, nothing else like it.
