Moot deleted /new/ because he was tired of it being neo-stormfront. He deleted it along with /r9k/ which caused a spinoff (which still exists to this day) called 4chon to be made. 4chon was widly popular and harassed 4chan for years and years, and eventually moot recreated /new/ as /pol/. He said if it went back to being stormfront again he would delete it. Then 2015 came. Then gamergate happened. Gamergate made moot get so pissed off and hate the site so much he sold it to hiroyuki and rode off into the sunset. Basically /pol/ ruined 4chan but we knew this already.
