What's even funnier is that a good 99% of the time the setting is a fantasy world, if magic exists then why the fuck would armies even spend time on armor altogether when their soldiers are just gonna get electrocuted anyways?

It's why i love the landsknecht so much, they existed and were basically the defacto military of the HRE. But their armor was highly stylish and didn't prioritize protection as much as it could.

Because the truth is, some people would rather go die in style instead of dying forgotten. Why even wear heavy armor when you're gonna get killed regardless? Might as well be stylish.
